Speech by the College's Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs
Prof. Dr. Amal Mohammed Al-Qaddah
Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service
The community service and environmental development sector is one of the most important sectors of the University. It's like the University's window and the connection between it and the external world. The sector activates the University's role in monitoring and studying many of
society's problems and contributing to solving development issues and providing community services to the neediest groups, which helps increase the satisfaction of societal parties about activities and building bridges for cooperation with business organizations, civil society organizations and different institutions. It is also responsible for contributing to occupational safety and health, ensuring the working environment and protecting material and human resources. The sector is also particularly interested in maintaining the integrity of the college's internal environment, protecting it from pollution, rationalizing the use of resources and activating crisis management within the college, and encouraging and sensitizing faculty members, their collaborators, administrative staff and college students on their role in environmental protection. The sector's role also extends to efforts to eradicate adult illiteracy in the University community and beyond, in cooperation with the Adult Education Authority, by raising students' awareness of the project and encouraging them to participate in it. This ultimately leads to the development of the community to be able to keep pace with progress and achieve the sustainable development goals of Egypt 2030.
