 Statement by the Unit Director:
Technology plays an important role in our personal and professional life. It has become an integral part of the nature of our time (the age of technology), and of our daily routines in all social, scientific and practical respects. Technology has become a way of life, not an instrument of entertainment. Hence, it is necessary to integrate technology into educational systems and to make the most of them in the teaching and learning processes for the development of education, to keep abreast of the age of technology and the information revolution and to respond to the urgent requirements of the era of globalization, especially the economics of education.
The Technical Services Sub-Unit of the College of Early Childhood Education seeks to increase the efficiency of the educational process, develop its outputs and provide an electron environment supportive of the performance of faculty members and its motivation for students through the optimal recruitment of e-learning applications through educational platforms, disseminate the culture of e-education and ensure the quality of e-education in the college and contribute to the provision of e-learning services available.

Unit’s Vision

The e-Learning Unit in Kindergarten College was established to support the faculty and students of the College, and to support them in adapting communication and information technologies to upgrade the educational service provided by the College to students and the community. The main objective of the Unit was to promote and encourage excellence in the fields of teaching, learning and other academic activities.

Unit’s Mission

  • Dissemination of the culture and programs of e-learning technology among faculty members and students of Kindergarten College - Mansoura University.
    Develop the college's curriculum technologically (electronic production) in order to keep pace with the information revolution in order to achieve the desired educational objectives.
  • Provide many e-learning sources to faculty such as multimedia, educational super and interactive associated with scientific materials, while providing e-books, CDs.
    Holding workshops for faculty members and students on e-education and its importance and role in the educational process and how to apply it and the skills required of them to enter this system.
  • Interest in developing the faculty professionally by acquiring content planning skills and using technology to communicate information and display educational material in a variety of ways in multiple websites suited to students' characteristics and abilities.
  • Analyze the College's needs for technological equipment, modern devices and places for the application of e-learning, then develop a number of alternatives that meet these needs, and then choose the best alternative.
  • Develop and update the College's website.
  • Providing support to the College's technological infrastructure through Network Infrastructure, e- management systems, e-learning systems, as well as technological equipment and modern devices;
    preparing classrooms and venues for the efficient application of e-learning and providing support and assistance systems to address application problems.
  • Transforming the College's library into an electronic library: containing various electronic sources, such as e-books, e-journals, scientific and educational databases, electronic documents and various types, and connecting to university information networks.
  • Training of workers in scientific departments in modern technological programs.
  • Design and application of electronic databases and their management to support the College's decision-making.
  • Development of the College's communication networks (local-global).
  • Care to protect computers and secure information in college.
  • Providing sources of education and information technology in the classrooms.
  • Help students use information technology and e-learning sources and employ them in school curricula and practical activities.
  • Develop the college's regulations and programs to fit e-learning and information age.

Steps of establishing the unit

  • Approval of the College Council for the establishment of the Electronic Education Unit.
  • Identify a director of the Electronic Education Unit.
  • Allocate a suitable place for the e-learning unit (a number of computers are available with accessories and Internet connectivity).

Provision of manpower for e-learning unit:

Objectives of the Unit

  • Apply distance education and e-learning policies through Al Mansoura University's educational platform.
  • Supporting female students' self-learning by acquiring the technical skills needed to use the educational platform in the e-learning process.
  • Raising faculty competence in e-learning and distance education through the educational platform.
  • Organizing appropriate training courses, workshops and lectures for teaching staff and students on e-learning.
  • Provide the necessary support with regard to the problems faced by faculty members and students in using the educational platform.
  • keep abreast of scientific development and knowledge revolution, and to spread technical culture to help create an electronic society capable of keeping abreast of modern developments.
